PAST EVENTS:
World Polio Day – October 24, 2017
One day. One Focus: Ending Polio.
One of the very important Rotary projects is the eradication of polio by raising funds and delivering the vaccination where it is needed. Today we are extremely close to completely eliminating this horrible disease.
During the day several members of the Rotary club of Essex, ON as well as the Interact cub hosted a pizza party. Members went into classrooms to discuss the disease and talk about what steps were being taken to eradicate it.
In the evening the Rotary Club of Essex was back for the World Polio Day fundraiser on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Essex United Church. The community was invited to come out for pizza and pasta and to learn about polio and how we are “this close” to ridding the world of this preventable disease. The event ran from 5:30-8 p.m.
